Maryann Choi, MD, MPH, MS, CMD has been named Coastal Health & Wellness (CHW) medical director.

Choi comes to CHW with more than 30 years’ experience as an internist, geriatrician and hospice palliative care physician executive with deep expertise in healthcare operations and administration, policy and health information technology.

“Dr. Choi is a recognized leader and a dedicated physician geriatrician who is known for being kind and empathetic to teams, patients and families,” said CHW Chief Operating Officer Ami Cotharn, MSN, RN. “We are thrilled to have her join us as we work to expand patient healthcare services.”

Choi serves on the Texas Health Care Association Medical Director Council, AMDA’s Innovation Platform Advisory Council and Texas Nursing Facility Payment Methodology Advisory Committee, as an adjunct assistant professor for Texas A&M College of Medicine and as a board member of the Texas A&M Regional Extension Center.

She completed her internal medicine residency at New Rochelle Hospital and geriatric fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital. She also holds Master degrees from Hofstra University – Graduate School of Computer Science and Texas A&M University School of Rural Public Health.
